Life can be challenging at times. Everyday stresses with relationships, work, and/or school can pile up, leaving you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, distressed, stuck, (fill in) the blank.

Counselling isn’t only for people diagnosed with mental illnesses. Everyone can benefit from counselling. Seeking professional input can be especially helpful when your usual coping strategies no longer seem to be making you feel better. Think of it as emotional self-care. Counselling can be a time and space where you feel supported and heard. Counsellors are trained to listen carefully and teach you new ways to tackle problems (old and new), manage symptoms, and build healthy habits for dealing with life’s curveballs.

Answer the following questions to see if counselling might be a good next step for you.

Who is this assessment for?

Following is a list of questions that relate to life experiences common among people who may need to seek help from a counsellor. Please read each question carefully, and then click on either "yes" or "no"  as it relates to the last 2 weeks.

How accurate is it?

This test is NOT a diagnostic tool. Mental health disorders can only be diagnosed by a licensed mental health provider or doctor. Petersgate Counselling Centre however believes assessments can be a valuable first step toward getting treatment. All too often people stop short of seeking help out of fear their concerns aren’t legitimate or severe enough to warrant professional intervention.
